DESCRIPTION Benzocaine (hydrochloride) is an orally active local agent that can suppress or relieve pain, that acts on voltage-gated Na+ channels at a common receptor, with an IC50 value of 0.8 mM at +30 mV. Additionally, Benzocaine (hydrochloride) non-competitively inhibits Ca-ATPase binding with Ca2+, with an IC50 of 47.1 mM.
