Description
(extracted from source data)
DESCRIPTION 1,3-Dipalmitoyl-rac-glycerol is a diacylglycerol that contains palmitic acid at the sn-1 and sn-3 positions. It activates protein kinase C α (PKCα) in vitro (Ka = 3.8 μM). 1,3-Dipalmitoyl-rac-glycerol (0.25-2 μM) inhibits apoptosis and production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and pro-inflammatory mediators induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation and reperfusion (OGD/R) in SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells. An acyl acceptor for the unspecific bifunctional wax ester synthase/acyl-CoA:Diacylglycerol acyltransferase. (BOC Sciences Bioactive Compounds)
