Description
(extracted from source data)
DESCRIPTION Basmisanil (RG1662) is a small molecule negative allosteric modulator that is selective for gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptors alpha 5, GABRA5, which are expressed in discrete brain regions that are associated with cognitive processing . It has been proposed for rescuing learning/memory deficits in individuals with intellectual disabilities such as those associated with Down syndrome . RG1662 has also been described as an inverse agonist of the α5subunit-containing GABAA receptors. (GtoPdb)
