DESCRIPTION Tetrahydroharmine is a plant-derived β-carboline alkaloid that is a component of the psychoactive drink Ayahuasca, that is traditionally brewed by indigenous cultures in the Amazon. It is one of the harmala alkaloids produced by plants such as Banisteriopsis caapi and Peganum harmala. Pharmacologically tetrahydroharmine acts to prevent the breakdown of Ayahuasca's principal hallucinogenic substance (DMT) by reversibly inhibiting monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) . (GtoPdb)
DESCRIPTION Tetrahydroharmine (Leptaflorine) is a natural product found in the stems and large branches of Banisteriopsis caapi cultivar Da Vine. Tetrahydroharmine is a Monoamine oxidase A inhibitor. (TargetMol Bioactive Compound Library)
