DESCRIPTION
Digitoxigenin is a cardenolide and aglycone constituent of digitoxin, an extract from the foxglove plant, D. purpurea. Digitoxigenin is highly cytotoxic, inhibiting Na+/K+ ATPase-dependent protein synthesis, and has been examined for use as an antitumor compound.
