Description
(extracted from source data)
DESCRIPTION Licofelone (ML-3000) is a dual COX/5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitor (IC50=0.21/0.18 ¦ÌM, respectively) for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Licofelone exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative effects. Licofelone induces apoptosis, and decreases the production of proinflammatory leukotrienes and prostaglandins[1][2][3].

DESCRIPTION Licofelone (ML-3000) is a dual COX/LOX inhibitor potentially for treating osteoarthritis, acting as both an analgesic and anti-inflammatory. By inhibiting 5-LOX, it may reduce the gastrointestinal toxicity associated with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which only inhibit COX (cyclooxygenase).
