DESCRIPTION
Ciglitazone is a selective agonist at peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) with an EC50 value of 3 μM in vitro. It is at least 33-fold selective over PPARα and δ. It shows antihyperglycemic activity in genetically obese C57 B1/6 ob/ob mice and is used as an antihyperglycemic agent.
