Description
(extracted from source data)
DESCRIPTION DASA-58 is an activator of tumour-associated pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) . PKM2 activation has potential to interfere with the anabolic metabolic pathway that is utilised by cancer cells to maintain high levels of proliferation. Like , DASA-58 promotes formation of highly active PKM2 tetramers and suppresses tumour expansion in vivo . (GtoPdb)
DESCRIPTION Data suggest a therapeutic strategy whereby activation of PKM2 may restore normal cellular metabolism to a state characteristic of normal differentiated cells. The goal of this project was to find pharmacological activators of PKM2 to test this theory. (MLP Probes)
